5G 網絡與物聯網推廣為智慧路燈發展契機。5G 網絡與 3G、4G 網絡有較大的不同，除了滿足以往的增強型移動寬帶場景外，還增加了低延時通信和海量機器通信兩個場景。也就是說，5G 網絡除了提高人與人的通信速度外，還要滿足通信所需要的低延時和高密度的性能。由于 5G 使用的頻率高于 4G，雖然提高了傳輸速度，但是信號傳輸的距離變短，因此單位面積內基站的需求量提高。相對比宏基站，小基站具備體積功耗小，集成度高，部署便捷等優點，因此，5G 時代將會催生小基站很大的需求。小基站的安裝方式主要有三種：抱桿安裝、樓面安裝、地面安裝。智慧路燈上安裝小基站為可行的抱桿安裝方式之一，將會催生智慧路燈大量需求。目前物聯網已經廣泛應用于智能停車、智慧城市、智能生產、智能家居等領域，物聯網的發展，將使智慧路燈“更加智慧”。利用物聯網無線通信技術，通過物聯網，所有的智慧路燈形成一張相互聯結的網絡，通過軟件平臺對各個路燈上傳的大數據進行整理和分布式處理，實現城市的實時管理。

There are three main installation methods of small base station: derrick installation, floor installation and ground installation. The installation of small base stations on smart street lamps is one of the most feasible installation methods for holding poles, which will lead to a large demand for smart street lamps. At present, the Internet of things has been widely used in intelligent parking, smart city, intelligent production, smart home and other fields. The development of the Internet of things will make the smart street lamp "more intelligent". Using the wireless communication technology of the Internet of things, through the Internet of things, all the intelligent street lamps form a huge network connected with each other. Through the software platform, the big data uploaded by each street lamp is sorted out and distributed, so as to realize the omnidirectional real-time management of the city.
